SENIOR ASSESSMENT EXIT SURVEYS

CONGRATULATIONS! We are excited that you have almost completed your degree at UPIKE!

Sometime in March or October, you will receive a welcome email from the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness Dr. Meg Wright Sidle, to inform you that you have been 鈥渞egistered鈥 for the senior assessment course. At that point, you will then be able to begin completing the assessments at your leisure, but no later than April 30 (Spring) or December 15 (Fall).

There are seven (7) surveys that you need to complete before you are allowed to receive your degree. These are set up in a special course on CANVAS. While you don鈥檛 have to complete them all at the same time, once you have started a particular instrument, you will need to finish it in that sitting. All six assessments must be completed.

The topics include:

  • Quantitative Literacy (15 minutes)
  • PEAK Student Self-Evaluation Form (3 minutes)
  • General Learning Outcomes (9 minutes)
  • Task and Lifestyle Development (30 minutes)
  • Ethical Awareness (5 minutes)
  • Academic Advisor Effectiveness (3 minutes)
  • Graduate Career Survey (4 minutes)

These surveys are critical to the faculty and administration at the university. Why? Because as an institution of higher education, we, too, are graded by what our graduates can do, how they think, and what their opinions are. We use the information from these six surveys to:

  • Improve the curriculum students take
  • Improve student in鈥恈lass and out鈥恛f鈥恈lass experiences
  • Improve academic advising students receive
  • Improve career readiness of students by graduation
  • Make UPIKE the leading University in Central Appalachia

If you have any questions, you may contact Dr. Meg Wright Sidle at (606) 218鈥5290 or (513) 873-0558 or msidle@upike.edu.
